Industrial Control Cyber Security conferences announced #Heartbleed #Havex #EnergeticBear
Amongst a background of continued and prolonged threats to the energy sector, such as the Heartbleed Bug vulnerability, Havex Remote Access Trojan and the on going concerns of the capabilities of adversary groups like Energetic Bear, the Cyber Senate has gathered a strategic panel of influential global leaders who will convene in London, United Kingdom September29th and 30th, and Sacramento California, October 6th and 7th, to address the ever increasing cyber threats targeting utility and grid operators, oil and gas, electricity, power generation and nuclear energy companies.
In Sacramento California the Department of Energy has joined as Key Note presenters, joining an authoritative line up including NERC, NIST, ERPI, Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company, San Onofre Nuclear Generation Station, Pacific Gas and Electric and the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District. The Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company, Chief Cyber Security Advisor for Digital Oil Fields will be presenting a four hour workshop on October 5th to address emerging threats to Oil and Gas facilities.
In London NIST will be addressing the development and standardization of cyber security controls and processes, joined by the Security Working Group of the ETSI-CEN-CENELEC Smart Grid standardisation group. Operational and IT convergence focused case studies have been announced by United Utilities, Alliander, Scottish and Southern Energy, Stedin, Electrilevi, Laborelec GDF Suez, and South Staffordshire Water to further address the challenges energy companies are facing in developing a robust security posture.
